        Pet Insurance

We recommend that all pets be insured.

All of us hope that our pets remain healthy throughout their life but at some point, they may need complex or on-going veterinary treatment.

The cost of veterinary treatments can mount up and neither we as the practice, nor you the client, will want to be put in the awful position of being unable to have treatment carried out through lack of finance.

Private veterinary practices, just like BUPA, receive no funding from the government. We regret that we do not have a credit system and so require all treatment to be paid for at the time of consultation. Having your pet insured, takes away any concern you may have regarding finance.

Under the new Financial Services Act introduced in 2005, Ayrton Veterinary Centre has been appointed as an approved representative for Pet plan. Our veterinary nursing staff is trained by Pet plan so that we can advise you on the latest and best Pet plan Policy available for your pet.
Unfortunately, the new Financial Services legislation prohibits us from offering any guidance on insurance policies that are not with Pet plan. It also means that we cannot help with the handling of your claim. We will still complete the veterinary section of your claim form but the responsibility for returning the claim form to the insurer now lies with the policyholder.

Claims forms should be sought from the relevant company quickly and once signed and client details completed, handed in to reception within *14 days. We would like to advise our clients that should a claim form not be received by the Hospital within 14 days, then settlement of the full amount will become payable immediately.

Please ask a member of staff for further information if you are unsure as to how these changes affect your non Pet plan Policy.
